The rich Chinese man named Wang Sicong, has bought 8 iPhone 7s for his dog on the day of their release. This lucky Dog known as Coco, an Alaskan Malamute also has two Apple Watches.
These watches weren’t just the regular Apple watches, either — they were the gold ones that went for US$10,000 apiece. Clearly, while neither the phones nor the watches are for Coco’s use, Wang’s point — that he’s privileged — was clear.
Sicong posted the images on his account dedicated to Coco on Weibo, China’s number 1 social media platform, China’s equivalent of Twitter. It has nearly 1.9 million followers and is ironically named ‘Wang Coco is a bitch.’
“I don’t understand all the show-off posts on (social media),” read the post alongside the photos.
“What’s the point? Don’t make me do it?”
In China, an iPhone 6 costs 6,988 yuan ($1,047), while the larger iPhone 7 Plus goes for 7,988 yuan ($1,197).
Thousands of people have commented on the iPhone 7 pictures on Weibo. A user called Anonymous Mute said: “Wang Sicong is so gross.”
Another user, WeChat a906991000, said: “Sicong’s dog has a better life than so many people.”
And xxxibgrosegr said: “The phones are probably for all his girlfriends.”
By the way, he is the only son of China’s richest man Wang Jianlin (estimated worth $30 billion).
