1 min read

On the first day of the no window hours policy implementation yesterday October 17,  the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) released two updates on the original scheme: expanded routes and expanded coding hours until 8pm.

Update #1

Set to be implemented on November 1, the ‘no window hours’ policy will affect the following areas:

  • EDSA
  • C5
  • Alabang-Zapote Road
  • Roxas Boulevard
  • Las Pinas
  • Mandaluyong City

To include the following:

  • C.M. Recto Avenue
  • Ortigas Avenue
  • Quirino Avenue
  • Araneta Avenue
  • C.P. Garcia Avenue
  • Bulacan-Rizal-Manila-Cavite Regional Expressway
  • Taft Avenue
  • SLEX
  • Shaw Boulevard
  • Magsaysay Boulevard/Aurora Boulevard
  • Quezon Avenue/Commonwealth Avenue
  • A. Bonifacio Avenue
  • Rizal Avenue
  • Del Pan/Marcos Highway/MacArthur Highway

Update #2

Coding hours have also been adjusted,

From: 7am to 7pm,

To: 7am to 8pm

In essence, your car is screwed one out of seven days in a week.

While this is still part of MMDA’s and Inter-Agency Council on Traffic’s (i-ACT) plan to decongest Metro Manila’s roads this holiday season, if effective, it is likely to be implemented past the initial policy’s January 31, 2017 end date.
