MANILA, Philippines – An earthquake strikes north of Pangasinan province on Sunday evening.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that a magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck 19 kilometers northwest of Bolinao, Pangasinan at 9:40 PM. With a depth of 26 kilometers, the quake was tectonic in origin.
The following intensities were reported:
Intensity IV was felt in Lingayen, Alaminos City, Sual, and San Fabian Pangasinan and in Alilem Ilocos Sur.
Intensity III, meanwhile, was felt in San Carlos and Dagupan City Pangasinan; San Emilio Ilocos Sur.
Intensity II was felt in San Fernando City and Bauang La Union; Baguio City; Makati City, Pasig City, Quezon City, Pasay City Metro Manila
But according to United States Geological Survey (USGS), it measured the quake Magnitude 5.7, and located at 4 kms northwest of Balingasay Bolinao with a depth of 10 kms.
