Nope, this is not a Political Analysis but questions addressed to all Filipinos who clamored for “CHANGE“. Neither is this a discourse of the country’s political scenario, but statement of obvious facts on the prevailing socioeconomic & political realities.

Duterte Contradictions

I can fully understand that majority of Filipinos were driven to the point of desperation by Aquino’s hypocrisies and empty boasts of the supposed “economic growth” that were never translated to sustainable job generation and lower basic commodities prices.

By the time Aquino steps down, he will leave a “legacy” of almost 7 trillion in national debt, the highest unemployment Rate in the Southeast Asian region, the highest corruption rate in Asia, the second lowest foreign direct investments in Southeast Asia, some 3.9 million families living below the poverty index and a weak state with flawed systems in place and a majority of people with twisted values systems who are clueless on the difference between fanaticism & subservience and patriotism.

Presumptive President Duterte vows to implement “CHANGE” in his administration and that is fine. In fact, the country needs “CHANGE” and i am all for it.

My beef however is, just what kind of “CHANGE” will Duterte bring if he is appointing political turncoats and opportunists like Davao City Congressman Isidro Ungab to be the incoming Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary. For those who do not know, Ungab was a Liberal Party (LP) member who was one of the recipients of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) Pork Barrel Scam but was never prosecuted simply because he was an ally of Aquino. So, where’s the “CHANGE”?

Duterte keeps on advocating federalism but has never mentioned not even once that he will dismantle the political dynasties, which, by the way, is specifically prohibited in the constitution. You see, federalism without dismantling the political dynasties will only further strengthen the hold of the dynasties on the political power and public funds.

Is it because Duterte himself is the patriarch of the political dynasty of Davao City that is why he has no intention whatsoever of dismantling the political dynasties? So, where’s the “CHANGE” again?

Recently, the Nacionalista Party (NP) coalesced with PDP-LABAN. Danding Cojuangco is NP Godfather while Peping Cojuangco had been a long time Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-LABAN) benefactor. So, what “CHANGE” are we talking about again?

Duterte also plans to appoint some key Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) politburo members to head the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The question is, did these CPP politburo members renounce their ties with the CPP and swore allegiance to the constitution, which is the Supreme Law of the Land? There are no reports indicating that the would-be communist appointees switched allegiances. So, what “CHANGE” are we talking about? This just in, Duterte will be appointing 6 CPP politburo members to his Cabinet.

A few days ago, Palace Drumbeater Herminio Coloma Jr. announced that “arresting Aquino will hinder the nation’s healing process.” In effect, Coloma is dictating that Duterte should not prosecute Aquino and make him pay for his sins against the country & the people. So far, Duterte had been mum about it. Therefore, it won’t be surprising if Duterte will let Aquino go scot-free. What’s all the talk about “CHANGE” again?

Now, what was all the talk and hype about “CHANGE”?

Have you LIKED our page yet?

If Duterte is sincere and has the Political Will to bring about “CHANGE”, all he needs to do follow and implement the constitution to the letter. Otherwise, he will just be the same dog in the mold of Aquino wearing a different collar.

Once again, the adage:
“THOSE WHO DO NOT LEARN THE LESSONS OF HISTORY ARE DOOMED TO REPEAT IT.” shall come to pass. Sadly and tragically.
