Youth Basketball at its Finest Gets Underway in the Queen City of the South

The Dreamers Regional Basketball Challenge of the Pinoy Youth Dreamers, one of the country’s finest grassroots basketball program gets underway last May 23, 2017 at the Ateneo de Cebu Campus.



Teams from NCR, Lipa Batangas, Cebu, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Tacloban and Dumaguete together with the RP Elite 13 under team will vie for youth hoops supremacy during the 5-day hoopfest.


The tournament organized by PYD founder Coach Beaujing Acot is divided into 3 divisions namely 13-under, 16-under, and 18 under.


One of the teams to watch out for in this tournament is the aforementioned RP Elite 13 under team coached by Mark Herrera and assisted by Edwin Ancheta and Benjie Diswe.


According to Coach Mark Herrera, the participation of the RP Elite in the Dreamers Regional Basketball Challenge would further intensify the bond and brotherhood of his players. It is his aim, according to Herrera to have a year-long program, to produce more players to be available in future iterations of the Batang Gilas program.
